West Midlands Police have lost more than 2,000 officers since 2010 – taking its numbers down to the lowest level since 1974 when it was first established. However, there has been no corresponding decrease in demand – in fact, the opposite is true.

West Midlands Police is struggling to tackle crime and is being hit harder than any other force with cuts of £130 million to its budget.

These cuts to frontline officers is having an impact on our communities in Lozells. A Labour Government would invest in the police, increasing the number of neighbourhood police officers working with communities to make all residents, young and old, safe and secure.
