I’m Waseem Zaffar and I’m privileged to be the Labour Candidate for the new Lozells Ward in Birmingham for the Local Election on Thursday 3rd May 2018.
It has been an honour to serve as the Councillor for the old Lozells and East Handsworth Ward since 2011.
Lozells is part of my DNA. It’s where I’ve lived all my life. I was born at the local hospital on the Dudley Road – City Hospital, and today I help run this hospital as a Non Executive Director serving on the Board.
I’ve lived on Leonard Road in Lozells with my family my whole life. I’ve extremely fond memories of my childhood in Lozells especially going to school at Heathfield Primary and Holte Secondary. I love being able to give back to the community that gave me so much, so I regularly visit Holte to help empower the next generation of leaders from Lozells and serve as a School Governor at Heathfield.
The issues that matter to the people of Lozells are the same issues that matter to me and my family.
