Welfare Reform Inquiry

Tuesday 11th September 2012 – Birmingham Council House, Victoria Square, Committee Rooms 3&4.

On the afternoon of Tuesday 11th September 2012 the Social Cohesion & Community Safety Overview & Scrutiny Committee that I chair will conduct an inquiry session into the impact of Welfare Reform on the people of Birmingham. The session will be held in the Council House in Victoria Square and you are most welcome to attend.

The aim of the inquiry is for all to have a full understanding of what the proposals are, what the current picture is in Birmingham, what impact the changes will have and what implications there might be on different groups of people. The Committee will be discussing any possible impact on social cohesion and what options there are for the City Council to support those communities and individuals affected.

If you would like to contribute any written evidence to this review, please email it to scrutiny@birmingham.gov.uk

Any information that you do provide will need to be submitted to this email address by 12noon on Friday 17th August. We are limiting submissions to two pages of A4 to ensure that key points can be picked up easily. Please note any evidence submitted will be available to view on the Democracy in Birmingham website and may therefore be discussed in the Press.

Details of the meeting and all written evidence will be available to download from the Democracy in Birmingham website, five days before the meeting http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/democracy/Pages/Index.aspx,
