I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I feel this is an opportunity to thank you for all you do for our community. Too often, the hard work of community activists passes unnoticed and unrewarded – but, it is much appreciated.

I feel that representing a ward such as Lozells & East Handsworth is made so much easier by the commitment, dedication and willingness of community activists across the ward who contribute to making Lozells and Handsworth the centre of the universe!

As someone who was born in this community and has lived his entire life here, I am proud to be representing our community as an elected member. I can only be an efficient elected member with the support of local residents and community groups. It is important that we stand united during these difficult times, but it is equally important that we do not let the local authority and/or any other agency cut front line services in Lozells and Handsworth.

Over the next few years, we will be tested on many occasions as a community – let’s stand shoulder to shoulder as one to build upon the success of recent years and campaign together for a better Lozells and Handsworth for all!
