Extra Police Presence in Lozells

Following a meeting this afternoon with Inspector Karen Geddes and Sergeant Jill Hughes of the West Midlands Police, I have been assured that despite limited resources following re-structuring of the Police, there will be extra police patrol in Lozells. This is due to an increase in street robberies and robberies in general.

The two main targets for criminals are gold and electronic devices.

The price of gold has increased substantially over the recession period and gold is seen as a quick convertor into cash. The main target group is Asian female. Please be vigilant.

Mobile telephones, satellite navigations and taxi computer hardware are also being targeted from young people and vehicles.

Please try not to display these items in full view of potential criminals.

I would also like to encourage all victims of crime to report all matters to the West Midlands Police on 0345 113 5000 or if required 999.
